On-Ice Programs

Power Skating

Power skating training is vital for hockey players to improve speed and performance. It enhances acceleration, agility, and efficiency through drills on posture, edge work, and stride mechanics. Sessions combine on-ice practice with off-ice strength training to increase muscle memory and stamina. Regular power skating practice significantly improves game performance and builds confidence.

Stick Handling, Passing, & Shooting

Power skating is crucial to other skills within the game such as passing, shooting, and puck handling. Players who are more comfortable and confident on their skates will be able to adjust their body more efficiently to where the puck is relative to their body. We at DPS hockey believe that incorporating puck handling to skating techniques and movements help increase overall athleticism and coordination.
